History

The origin of Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling goes back to 1974 when a small, privately owned company, Macawber Engineering Ltd was formed as a supplier of dense-phase pneumatic conveying equipment and systems to general industry. Through a series of transitions and acquisitions this original company now forms Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling

A significant part of Macawber Engineering Ltd and their successor Simon Macawber Ltd's business has always been within the Power Generation Industry, these activities have grown to cover some of the largest coal-fired power generation utility boilers in the world.

Bought by the Scottish company, Clyde Blowers Plc in 1994, Simon Macawber, subsequently was re-named Clyde Pneumatic Conveying Ltd, eventually becoming Clyde Materials Handling Ltd.

Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling was formed in March 2000 as a sub-division of Clyde Materials Handling Ltd, but under the operational control of the Clyde Bergemann Power Group to provide additional focus and leadership for our business.

Now a separate Limited Company (March 2001), Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling Ltd, from our base in Doncaster, provide a range of innovative solutions to solid fuel fired power plants in every part of the globe, increasing the efficiency of our Customer's plants.

In the global marketplace we have established a global business network to satisfy the varied needs of our customers by use of the existing Clyde Bergemann Power Group worldwide sales and manufacturing network.

Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling Ltd is in no way associated with Macawber Engineering Incorporated and the name Macawber is used here for historical clarification only.
