Clyde Bergemann Doncaster is pleased to announce that it ended 2005 in the same successful way in which the year began, with another significant contract for Ash Handling equipment.
The Electricity Supply Board (ESB) in Ireland awarded the Moneypoint Ash Handling Upgrade project to Clyde Bergemann Materials in December. This contract is for the total upgrade of the original Ash Handling equipment at the existing 3 x 305MW Power Plant located in Kilrush, County Clare in the Republic of Ireland.
The contract is the culmination of a combined effort by all disciplines in Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling headed by Sales Manager Matt Rodgers, and valued at over 9.1 Million Euros, this contract is the second largest contract awarded to Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling in their 30 year history.
The contract is a complete turnkey package, which includes the design supply and manufacture of all the materials handling equipment produced by Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling as well as the Compressors, Power & Electrical cabling and Mechanical & Electrical installation.
As the project is in Ireland and includes all site management, Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling personnel have had to undertake training in Dublin, Ireland on the national ‘Safe Pass’ system in order to be competent on the local site rules and regulations.
The project is spilt over three phases with the completion of the first phase being required no later than May 2006 to ensure that the boiler can be back on-line and ready for commercial operation in June 2006. The following two units are scheduled to be completed in June 2007 & June 2008.
In order to ensure the very tight deadlines can be achieved Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling personnel will start work on site in January 2006 removing unnecessary items of plant and installing new power cables and pipelines in advance of the Boiler Outage that starts in March 2006.
This contract continues to demonstrate Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling strategy of successfully winning projects outside of the Chinese Power market and represents a further Milestone in the future of Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling global presence in providing total turnkey solutions.
This project is hopefully the first of many large turnkey projects throughout Europe that Clyde Begemann Materials Handling is currently progressing.
